The grounds at Springbank Plantation encompass 1280 acres, which have been developed and managed, for some of the finest upland quail and pheasant hunting in the world. The grounds have been planted with incredible quail habitat including broomsedge, lovegrass, partridge peas, feed plots with milo, and native grasses. The hunting courses are made up of nine large areas featuring rolling hills and flat lands with objectives everywhere for a professional trained bird dog. The tall Georgian plantation pines make it challenging for the hunters, as the bobwhite coveys burst into the air. It will remind you of the kind of places you loved to quail hunt back when wild birds were prominent in this part of the world. Plan a hunt at Springbank Plantation to enjoy some of the best flying quail, custom built jeeps, professional guides, and very well trained dogs. Experience southern hospitality at its best.
Springbank Plantation at Barnsley Resort is home to one of the southeast's premier Sporting Clays facilities. The 16-station sporting clays course is located on the 1500 acre resort less than 5 miles from the hunting preserve. So, it is a fantastic way to warm up for your hunt or extend your day of shooting.
If you are a beginner or have years of shooting experience our course has target settings that will appeal to you. The course boasts a diverse layout of shots in open field, in the woods, as well as shots over two reclaimed bauxite mine ponds. These numerous settings accommodate targets representing various game birds in realistic settings and tests each shooter's ability to the fullest. During warm summer months, shooters experience the comfort of shooting in the woods under the natural canopy.
In addition to the sporting clays course, a covered 5-stand layout that overlooks a large bauxite mine pond is also available. This accommodates shooting in all weather conditions as the shooters are always under the protection of the covered area.
Shotgun shooting instruction is offered by the hour and in half day sessions. Or you may wish to attend one of the one- or two-day Caesar Guerini Wings & Clays Schools.
